Every Friday we will be serving our new fish menu in the Tearoom. If you fancy something fishy on a Friday, look no further than Cannon Hall Farm. We will be serving such new delights as Cod in Parsley Sauce and Tuna Salad Nicoise alongside old favourites like Traditional Fish & Chips and Fish Pie. Chris our chef has prepared a range of dishes in addition to our normal menu. Currently featured are Chilli Meatballs in a Spicy Tomato Sauce, Slow Cooked Gressingham Duck, Goats Cheese & Caramelised Red Onion Tart, and a delicious Steak Sandwich with Blue cheese & Red Onion Chutney. For a more traditional lunch we offer a Roast of the Day.

Tractor and Trailer Farm Safari Coming Soon

We are delighted to announce our tractor and trailer farm safari will be taking it’s first passengers on 1st June and running until the 10th June. You’ll have a unique opportunity to view our highland cattle, llamas and other farmyard friends while trundling through the rolling pastures of Cannon Hall Farm in our purpose built trailer. There will be a small additional charge for these excursions and they will be running again throughout the summer holidays.

Royal Ascot Sheep Racing Returns 1st-10th June

Back by popular demand, sheepracing returns on June 1st until June 10th.
Our sheepracing will have a Royal Ascot theme this spring bank break and once more there will be a chance to win a family day ticket for the farm. People have been asking all winter and spring when sheepracing will be returning and we can now announce that the runners and riders are about to enter a period of intense training to get them fit for the new season. You’ll also be able to enjoy Olympic sheepracing during the long, hopefully hot, summer holidays so there’s lots to look forward to in the weeks to come. You’d be baaaarmy to miss it!

Sheep Shearing At Spring Bank Holiday

Spring bank holiday runs from the 1st-10th June this year and we have a packed programme of events to delight the crowds. We will have a sheep shearing demonstration every day during the holidays so you can watch the sheep losing their winter coats. Sheepracing will take on a royal twist in this Jubilee year as Royal Ascot comes to Cannon Hall Farm and our children’s activities will take on a patriotic theme too. We have lots of baby goats and lambs due to be born too. Our small animal petting area will be open and you will be able to feed the cattle in the roundhouse through our innovative tube feeding system. A great holiday experience, admission is £5.95 for adults and kids.

Visit England Awards for Excellence 2012

Following our success in winning the Welcome to Yorkshire Best Tourism Experience award, Cannon Hall Farm has now been shortlisted in the Visit England Awards for Excellence 2012. We are very proud to announce that we have been shortlisted alongside 4 other attractions for Best Tourism Experience 2012 at the Visit England Awards. Cannon Hall Farm is competing against Adventure Forest Go Ape, Cheshire. Livingstone Lodge, Port Lympne, Kent. Severn Valley Railway, Worcestershire. and Via Ferrata, Honister Slate Mine, Cumbria. Farm director Richard Nicholson commented ” We are really delighted to be shortlisted in the biggest tourism awards in the country. The attractions we are up against are a real mixed bag, from glamping with African animals to steam railways so I guess it’s just going to be a question of what the judges are looking for. The results will be announced in a glittering awards ceremony in Leicester on Tuesday 22nd May, so keep your fingers crossed for us!”

Al Fresco Eating Area Opens at Cannon Hall Farm

For Easter we have revamped the surroundings of our Tearoom to provide a greatly improved out door eating area for our customers. With a choice of grass or paved seating areas with parasoled tables and new wooden benches, we can now offer a really attractive al fresco experience….weather permitting!!

To complement the new seating areas we have also opened a new hot food kiosk serving a range of tasty homemade snacks along with hot and cold drinks. This should help us to keep our customers well fed during the busy summer months.

Ferret Racing Track Completed

Our team of skilled craftsmen have worked tirelessly to create our new ferret racing track! Cannon Hall Farm’s ferret racing season commences at 11:00am on Saturday 5th May and continues throughout the May Day bank holiday weekend. Four intrepid ferrets will race each other along our purpose built race track. Races will take at 11:00am and then hourly between 1:oopm and 4:00pm. Why not come and place a bet? All winners will be placed in a draw to win a free family day ticket.
