Spring Bank Holiday Events

There will be a full programme of events to delight and entertain you throughout the Spring Bank holiday week. Throughout the week commencing 25th May we’ll have sheep shearing demonstrations between 12 and 4 pm. Our famous sheep and ferret races will run throughout the day as will a static birds of prey display . The kids will be able to take part in farm related craft activities and the small animal petting area will be open as normal.

What’s Happening in May?

At weekends in April there will be a full programme of sheep and ferret racing and animal feeding at the roundhouse between 11.30am and 4.oopm.
The small animal petting area will be open between 11.00am and 4.00pm.

On weekdays There will be sheep races at 1.00pm and 1.30pm a ferret race at 2.00pm and animal feeding at the roundhouse at 1.45pm. The small animal petting area is open between 2.15pm to 3.30pm.

New Farmyard Opening Summer 2013

Work is progressing well on our new farmyard, due to open in Summer 2013. The new farmyard costing over £1 million and covering over 50,000 square feet is a completely new concept. Seven new farm buildings have been designed with the visitor in mind. Purpose built viewing galleries will allow a unique insight into the day to day workings of a modern farmyard. You’ll be able to see tractors and farm machinery in action in a proper working farmyard. It’s the first visitor centre of it’s type in the world and we’re really excited about welcoming our first visitors in the summer of 2013.

May Day Bank Holiday

We have a day of sheep and ferret racing planned for Monday the 6th, the May Day bank holiday. We’ll be racing our sheep come rain or shine on our new all weather race track. We also have children’s craft activities, feeding the animals through tubes in the roundhouse and our small animal petting are will be open too.

Easter Activities

We have a great programme of events coming up during the Easter break. This year the activities will run between the 23rd March and 14th April with the exception of the Easter egg trail which will run between the 29th March and the 7th April. Children answer questions about the animals to win a chocolate egg. There’s no extra charge for this activity. We’ll be expecting lots of baby animals including around 350 lambs. There’ll be sheep, ferret and hamster racing, and kids craft activities with an Easter theme. The birds of prey will be back again this year too with regular flying displays throughout the day. Easter is a great time of year to visit because there are always plenty of baby animals and lots going on too.

Quads Born Easter Monday

We are delighted to announce the delivery of our second set of quads this year. These little ones were born on Easter Monday and Farmer Robert decided to call them after BBC breakfast presenters Bill, Jenny, Naga and Charlie after the farm appeared on the BBC Breakfast Show last Friday.” They are all doing well but we’ve had to foster one off to another mum who only has a single lamb” said Robert, “That way they will have the best chance of growing up big and strong.”

Easter Egg Trail 29th March-7th April

Our Easter egg trail has been so popular this year you’ve had to print extra copies.The trail gives you a series of clues to follow and questions to answer with a sweet treat at the end. The good news is there’s no extra charge after you’ve paid the standard admission fee. Along with sheep and ferret racing, birds of prey and kids craft activities it’s great fun and adds an extra dimension to the day.

First Lambs Of The Year Arrive

Our first lambs of the season arrived on Tuesday 5th February. Mum and her twin lambs are doing well and we are expecting lots more over the next three weeks!
