Booking with Offers

We hope you have a fantastic visit to Cannon Hall Farm! To help us manage visitor numbers, all tickets must be booked online in advance, including those with special discounts.

We’re happy to offer one free carer ticket for guests with additional needs (proof of eligibility required and checked on arrival).

We also accept Max Cards – please remember to bring yours on the day, as entry won’t be permitted without it, and you’ll need to pay for any free tickets if proof isn’t shown.

Carer tickets

Although we do not offer a discount on tickets for disabled people, we do permit them one free carer to accompany them (should one be required) free of charge.

Only one carer can receive free entry per disabled guest.

We will require documentation on the day of your visit such as:

  • DLA or PIP entitlement letter
  • A Blue badge
  • A letter from a Doctor/Consultant/NHS Governing body or similar detailing requirements for a carer

Please note, that this is for standard farm admission only. Any event requests, please contact us separately.

 Max cards

Max Card holders are entitled to Buy One, Get One Free for a total of up to four tickets. Add two paid, and two free tickets to your basket to qualify for the maximum amount.

Please remember to bring your Max card with you.

We only accept one Max card per booking.

Please note, that these promotional offers are valid only on farm admission and not special events.

Wheelchair & mobility scooter hire

To make your visit as comfortable as possible, we have a very limited number of manual wheelchairs and electric mobility scooters available to hire for a small charge.

Our mobility scooter can be booked for the following identified sessions: 10am to 1pm, 1.30pm to 4.30pm and the hire fee is £10 per session.

Hirers must also provide a £50 returnable deposit and a current valid, photographic ID to be produced and checked by admissions staff.

IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to hire our mobility scooter customers must be under 23 stones in weight and over 16 years of age. You will be asked to read and sign a full terms and conditions of hire document upon arrival. Full terms & conditions below.

Terms and Conditions of Hire

I agree to the following: –

I am under 23 stone 
I am over 16 years of age
I am the only person who will use the equipment and I will not let anyone ride on the equipment with me
To only use the equipment within the Cannon Hall Farm site
To return the scooter by the agreed time
To take all due care and attention whilst using the scooter
To operate the scooter at a speed that is comparable to walking pace
To avoid contact with objects or other people
To use the equipment at my own risk, and that I will be responsible for the cost of any damage caused by me to the equipment or any property, whilst the equipment is in my possession
If I suffer any damage or injury as a result of, or in the course of using the equipment, whether or not the injury or damage is caused or contributed to by any negligence on the part of Cannon Hall Farm Ltd. I will release Cannon Hall Farm Ltd. from any liability
If any other person or entity suffers injury or damage as a result of, or in the course of my use of the equipment, whether or not the injury or damage is caused or contributed to by any negligence on the part of Cannon Hall Farm Ltd. I will indemnify Cannon Hall Farm Ltd. against any resultant liability

Mobility access and terrain

Cannon Hall Farm welcomes all visitors and strives to make the site accessible to everyone and to have staff and equipment to help provide any assistance that is needed.

The farm is in a rural location and some parts of the farm include slopes. All areas of the farm are tarmacked/have tarmac access.

All areas of the farm have step-free access, apart from access to the roundhouse gantry. However, our roundhouse has 360 viewpoints from ground level.

Arrival

Car Parking is free for blue badge holders – surfaces are tarmac, gravelled surfaces and grass (in drier weather). A tarmacked area is available for disabled parking close to main entrance to the farm, farm shops and restaurants.

Public transport – is very limited – There is a daily bus service from Barnsley to Cawthorne village (0.5 miles to Cannon Hall Farm through Cannon Hall Country Park) and limited service on Sunday. There is a narrow tarmac path from The Walk, Cawthorne, via the country park to Cannon Hall Farm which is accessible by wheelchairs and mobility scooters.  Contact SYPTE for times / prices on 01709 515151.

Trains – nearest main line station is Barnsley. Taxis are available to transport visitors to our site.

Shops and Restaurants

The entrances to all shops and restaurants are accessible to wheelchair users. The doors are either automatic opening or manually opened by activation by push buttons situated at a height accessible by wheelchair users. Staff will help at any time if required.

Assistance is available when required to reach higher shelves.

Restaurant staff will carry food and drink orders to the tables.

Tables and chairs are not fixed and can be rearranged to accommodate wheelchair users.

The mezzanine in the Hungry Llama is accessed by steps and is inaccessible by wheelchair but all facilities can be accessed from the lower level.

The surfaces of outside eating areas are a mixture of paving and decking.

Retractable sails provide shade in some outdoor areas.

All party rooms are accessible by wheelchair.

Farm and Outside Activity Areas

The animal barns are accessible to wheelchair users. The surface is easily accessed concrete or tarmac with slopes in and out of the main barns and down to the lower farmyard. There are no steps.  Some of the slopes are moderate (up to 1 in 10) and manual wheel chair users may find these slopes difficult without assistance.

The Adventure Playgrounds are accessed by sloping concrete or tarmacked paths.

The surfaces of the play areas are covered with a reconstituted rubberised product and are accessible by wheelchair users.

Seating areas are located in the play areas for people who have difficulty standing.

The Roundhouse has a raised viewing platform that is accessed by steps and is inaccessible by wheelchair and unsuitable for persons who cannot manage steps.  

The sheep racing arena consists of a tarmacked surface that is accessible to wheelchair users.

The trailer (Tractor and Trailer Ride) can be accessed by wheelchair and can accommodate one per ride.

Hand washing facilities throughout the site are equipped with low level basins and dryers.

Guide dogs & assistance dogs

Guide dogs & assistance dogs are welcome throughout the site but it is preferable if they can have some form of identification on them (ie a harness) as we do not allow dogs on the farm in general

Toilets & changing facilities

Unisex toilets with wheelchair access are available. The toilets are equipped with low level basins and dryers. 

Unisex baby changing facilities are situated throughout the site.

Accessible play

The new play areas have a firm focus on being more accessible for children with additional needs, and were designed by expert equipment manufacturer Playdale with inclusive and accessible elements to allow children with all abilities to play together. 

There are wheelchair ramps on lower levels, wide slides, a fully accessible roundabout plus reaction play panels and electrical musical panels.
