Sad news as we bid goodbye to two favourites

There's sad news at the farm as we say goodbye to two of our favourite animals - who are retiring from our herd and moving on to pastures new.

Farewell Diamond and Alice, our pony pals.

A dramatic lambing with Farmer Dave

Farmer Dave is on duty in the roundhouse and has to intervene with a tricky lambing with a whopper of a lamb. Don't forget there scores of new arrivals to see every day in our roundhouse throughout half term.

Raspberry being scanned!

Our scanner Megan is back on site checking our gorgeous girl Raspberry the donkey to see if she's in foal. Is it good news for our fruity miniature? Join Farmer Dave to find out.

Sad news as we bid farewell to a farm favourite!

It's a sad day as we bid goodbye to one of our most known animals who has sadly passed away.

Robert, the Billy Goat, has lived a long and happy life and spent six years of those with us at Cannon Hall Farm.

We are surrounded by his legacy so all is not lost.

Big news for Sapphire our Shire horse!

There's big news for Sapphire our Shire horse as she heads off (temporarily) on a new adventure as part of our Shire Horse Conservation project.

We are committed very much to expanding the numbers on this incredible breed, and although 2025 sounds like such a long way away, planning for that year starts now.

Lambing night shift

It's a busy night shift at Cannon Hall Farm as Farmer Dave is in the roundhouse with our pregnant ewes - who run into difficulty and need him at the same time.

The lambing ropes are out and Farmer Dave is using years of experience to assist this new mum.

Watch his nightshift video diary now.

Five new pigs have joined us!

We've had five new gilts join our farm family and they have produced an incredible number of piglets.

Join Farmer Rob as we check in with all the new arrivals, we are so pleased with them.

What should we call Daffodil’s son?

Farmer Dave is checking in with proud parents Daffodil and Gary - and their gorgeous new donkey foal. What do you think this new arrival should be called? Name suggestions welcome!

Farmer Dave’s Lambing Vlog

Farmer Dave is in the roundhouse with a ewe that needs assistance - join us for this very difficult lambing as he talks us through the process.

Can the lamb be saved?

A lambing night shift

The night shifts are underway and, with lambing, patience is key. When a ewe needs help, it is up to our farmers to make the right call, and for this lambing intervention with Farmer Dave and Phil, it was one that took time. These gorgeous new arrivals can be seen in the roundhouse on your next visit.

Lambing season is underway !

We are checking in to the roundhouse maternity unit on all our first-time lambers who are doing an amazing job with all their new arrivals. What have our farmers been doing to make sure the lambs keep warm? Well, they aren't best dressed but they've got some little biodegradable coats...
