Breeding the stick insects
One of the biggest aims for our reptile keepers in the last few months has been to successfully breed our stick insects and when Farmer Kate found the tiniest little egg she couldn't have been happier.
Farewell, friend!
From the midnight feeds, to the night shift tag teams, Rob the alpaca really did take a Herculean effort to keep alive.
There were so many times when we worried he wouldn't make it.
We cannot say how proud it makes us to watch him now go to his forever home and make a herd of his very own.
Farewell, friend!
Helen keeps us waiting!
Our alpaca Helen is really keeping us waiting now - she's the last of our herd to unpack and there's still no sign of her little one.
When do you think she will have her cria?
Bottle-feeding our cria!
Farmer Kate is here with an update on our precious bottle-fed alpaca who's growing up right before our eyes! Join us as we witness the heartwarming moment when our adorable alpaca enjoys a bottle-feeding session.
Goodbye Eliott
Its been a week tinged with sadness as we say farewell to our Shire Eliott who has gone to a new home in Scotland. As a Shire Horse Society approved centre, it is really important we spotlight this fantastic breed. We are sure Eliott will have an amazing future as a riding horse.
Farmer Kate’s Pupdate!
They are getting so big! Join Farmer Kate for a pupdate as we check in on the Pip Squeaks who are now just full of beans.
Please note: we have had many offers from people wanting to offer a home to the pups but it is our preference that they go to working homes / small holdings and other farms.
An update on Silver!
We have some wonderful news about Silver and her surrogate foal - and we've got some lovely heart-warming clips of them together. It's still early days but we have some very exciting news.
A Farming History
The Nicholson family opened the farm to the public in 1989 - and since then progress has been the mindset to improve things for our visitors. Here Farmer Richard narrates a little bit about our history.
Concern for our donkey – Cannon Hall Farm
Another new arrival!
Here at Cannon Hall Farm, you never know what the day will bring. And as visitors to the farm discovered - that could include a donkey birth where Farmer Dave had to offer some help (which is highly unusual.)
He's an experienced birthing partner!
The Pip Squeaks
As you know, we've commited to donating all the proceeds from the sale of Pip's pups to several charities.
We are thrilled to say we've now chosen the first benefactors - we are supporting Farmer Ruth and her pals at The Shire Cyclepaths.
One puppy's income will be going to that fundraising initiative - well done guys!
Twin Calves Update
We've had scores of messages about our orphan calves that appeared on Springtime on the Farm.
We are so happy to report that they are both heading in the right direction - so join Farmer Dave as we check in with the pair.
Where it all began!
We held a sell out celebration event on Saturday to celebrate Farmer Roger's 80 years in farming.
If you'd like to hear more about our family farming history, join Farmer Richard as he flicks through the family photo album.
