Cannon Hall Farm has beat off stiff competition to be shortlisted for two national awards.

We competed against scores of farm parks across the country to get through to the finals of the National Farm Attractions Network annual awards.

We have been shortlisted for Best Large Visitor Attraction and Best Digital Presence after launching our own weekly TV show on YouTube.

Cannon Hall Farm TV is produced fully in house and is filmed and edited by farmer Dale Lavender.

Robert Nicholson, farm director, said: “Dale has been with us for quite some time and when he expressed an interest in learning more about video production we were really keen to encourage that. We really want our staff to be able to feel able to try something new – and Dale really quickly progressed from filming clips on an iPhone to now being given a full day a week away from his usual farm duties to edit video content for our channel.”

The farm does its own weekly TV show featuring Robert and his brother David and also airs videos about any new arrivals or animal news and reaches up to a quarter of a million people each week.

The farm team will be joining the other finalists at an awards dinner at the end of the month to find out if they’ve won the title.
